Therapeutic Indication:-
Deepen (appetizer), pachana (digestive), plihaghna (treat splenomegaly), raktavikarahara (blood purifier), kamlahara (treat jaundice).
Disease:-
Fruit is used in the treatment of jaundice and enlarged spleen, also a table fruit. Bark is astringent and diuretic. The bark is used in the form of decoction(50-100 ml)to treat diabetic disorder, cyst, cough, spider poisoning. Roots and leaves are used for aphthae, poisonous bite, skin diseases, pruritis, erysipelas, nephropathy and psychopathy.
Therapeutic Effect:-
1. Kamla – stem bark decoction is very useful in jaundice and splenomegaly.
2. Sarpavisha – root paste is applied over the area of the snake bite.
3. Sotha – decoction of bark and root is given in inflammation in arthritis.
Dose:-
Fresh juice – 10-20 ml, decoction – 40-80 ml.
